Hiking gear and snacks in the lodge

I used the bear spray and hiking poles Amy and Eddie provided to explore the trails around the lodge. Between outings, I grabbed snacks and beverages from the communal area which was always stocked. My room featured a private balcony where I watched deer while eating breakfast. The wooden lodge construction gave my room a warm, rustic feel that added to the solitude I wanted during my trip.

Bikes and fishing gear available

I picked up one of the bikes to travel to the Big Horn River during my stay. I cooked eggs from the fridge and sliced banana bread for my breakfast before I headed out to the water. In the evenings, I used the provided fishing gear to catch trout in the river while I left my gear in the yard.

Cold milk waiting in the fridge

Ellyn left a glass of milk in the fridge by my room after I asked for one, waiting for me each evening when I returned from the Frontier Days rodeo. I sat on the outdoor patio with a glass of wine to view the flowers and the sky. The jacuzzi tub in the suite helped me relax after a long drive.

Wildlife viewing from the private deck

I watched deer and geese pass by my room while I sat on the deck overlooking Flat Creek. Every morning I enjoyed a made-to-order crepe from the guest chef, and I sipped wine by the creek during the daily happy hour. Warm cookies waited by the front door at four every afternoon for me to grab.

Pecan and blueberry waffles for breakfast

I ate Frankie's Waffles with pecans and blueberries when Ellyn served breakfast each morning. I soaked in the jet tub inside the Yellowstone Cattle Baron Ensuite after my long drive across the state. This western-style room featured a king-size bed and a private patio off to the side, which I used for sitting quietly while looking out over the rolling prairie grass.

Observing wildlife from the rooftop deck

I watched the mountains from the observation deck while warming up by the outdoor fire pit and using the telescope. After visiting downtown, I warmed up in the outdoor hot tub before heading to Wild Sage for dinner. I enjoyed the complimentary homemade cookies available in the evening lounge, which I paired with the all-day tea provided for guests on the second floor.

Local beef on the cabin grill

I ordered local ranch beef before my arrival, which waited in my cabin refrigerator. I cooked the steaks on the grill provided outside my door while I watched the horses graze in the pasture. My cabin had a full kitchen with a stove, and I sat on the porch to see the Grand Tetons at sunset. This peaceful setting offered a quiet retreat during my four nights near the park entrance.

I grabbed trail mix from the pantry station on my floor whenever I returned to the room. I enjoyed the heated outdoor pool and hot tub after hiking near Jackson Town Square. My room featured a fireplace and a Nespresso machine which I used each morning.

Eggs from local hens served at breakfast

We ate breakfast made to order with eggs from the chickens that roam the hotel, alongside bacon and homemade items. Our room featured a full ensuite and individual air conditioning, while a screened patio provided a place to sit outside. I found a refrigerator stocked with ice cream and other snacks in the dining room. Sam and her mother prepared a breakfast with fresh fruit and pastries every morning. Heated pool facing the Grand Teton

I swam in the heated pool while looking at the Grand Teton mountains through the open windows. The staff prepared personalized daypacks with bear spray, snacks, and water before I headed out for my hike. Every evening, I relaxed by the fire with a bottle of wine and a blanket.
